SiS Unveils New-Generation eHome Solution at WinHEC 2002

~ Wide-ranging products demonstrate high-performance PC peripheral hardware technology: fulfill home entertainment, home networking, unlimited peripheral expansion and IA applications ~

Taipei, April 16, 2002 - Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation (SiS), a leading core logic and graphics chip supplier, announced today that it is attending the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC 2002), organized by Microsoft Corporation in Seattle and Taipei. SiS will present SiS eHome Solution, the all-in-one solutions for various needs, to manufacturers and engineers at the conference. The products exhibited showcase SiS's high-performance PC-based home entertainment and home networking, unlimited peripheral expansion and applications for information appliances (IA).

To highlight the feasibility of unlimited peripheral expansion, SiS962, the Southbridge chip with complete support for new-generation peripheral interfaces IEEE 1394A and USB 2.0, will be displayed with various peripheral devices, such as PC cameras. In addition, SiS550 Family, the SoC chipset that integrates CPU, Northbridge/Southbridge chips and graphics engine, will also be displayed at WinHEC 2002 to present various applications for information appliances, such as Thin Client, Set Top Box and LCD PC (Liquid Crystal Display PC).

SiS fully satisfies consumer expectations for high-performance PCs. Exhibited in March at the CeBIT Germany with great reviews, its new-generation P4 chipset SiS648 and 3D graphics chip SiS330, with AGP8X support, provide the ultimate enjoyment in home entertainment. Plus, the SiS651 chipset, offering integrated graphics, is the most cost-effective choice for home network servers.

"SiS is the first in the industry to launch a chipset that can support the new-generation graphics display technology- AGP8X, and the new Southbridge chipset supports both USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 peripheral interfaces. The ideal eHome Solution requires fast peripheral devices and unlimited expansion, cohesion, and at a reasonable cost. Products paired with SiS solutions are able to fully meet all these requirements," says Alex Wu, Director of SiS Integrated Product Division.

SiS has cultivated years of experience and excellent R&D capability in the PC chipset market and continues to introduce the most competitive high-performance products to satisfy the needs of all sectors of the PC market.
