ASRock announced an AMD 64-bit platform, the K8 Combo motherboard, during the Computex 2004 Taipei exhibition. Based on the elaborate future-proof CPU socket combo design and advanced SiS755FX chipset, ASRock's K8 Combo motherboard combines both Socket 754 and Socket 939 CPU architectures on a single motherboard; users can easily upgrade their PC system from Socket 754 CPU (Athlon™64) to Socket 939 CPU (Athlon™64 FX) without changing the motherboard, bringing more flexibility to users. SiS has just announced our latest Northbridge Chipset, the SiS656, supporting the LGA775 CPU and PCI Express x16. At this Computex2004, we showcased several SiS-based motherboards from our customers supporting the LGA775 CPU, and we even had a live demo platform of the SiS656 with a LGA775 CPU. southbridge chipset, the SiS965, was designed with
the latest market trends in mind, featuring support
for next generation technologies that are redefining
the PC industry. The SiS965 comes complete with
support for PCIe, which makes it ideal for connecting
high-speed peripheral devices for multimedia applications,
as well as a Gigabit Ethernet MAC.
The SiS965 features a Gigabit Ethernet MAC built
into the chip. With this architecture, not only
are costs saved, but also 2 Gigabit Ethernet connections
can be enabled from Gigabit Ethernet MAC and external
PCIe Gigabit Ethernet card, giving customers
