With
Intel's entry-level D201GLY motherboard, which adopts chipsets from
Silicon Integrated System (SiS), seeing increased demand in emerging
markets, Intel has decided to launch the next-generation D201GLY2
motherboard in the fourth quarter, featuring a new CPU and additional
connection ports. The new motherboard will continue to adopt the
SiS662 chipset, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Time
report.
SiS is highly likely to
outsource more orders to United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC)
in order to satisfy Intel's demand in the fourth quarter, and this
will result in UMC's production capacity remaining at high volume
during the time, added the paper. |
