SiS Leaping toward the 800MHz Mobile Computation Era

Taipei, July 31, 2003 – Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a world leader in core logic products, today announces the introduction of SiSM661FX, an 800MHz integrated core logic chipset for Notebooks. SiSM661FX is currently one of the most comprehensive integrated chipset for Notebook, supporting the 800MHz Front Side Bus format, DDR400 function and an advanced graphic technology--Ultra-AGPII™ technology. SiSM661FX is expected to usher in the era of 800MHz mobile computing.

Built with incomparably advanced formats and architecture, SiSM661FX supports all the Intel Pentium® 4 CPUs, provides a simplified product development process for OEMs and system integrators and perfectly pin compatible with SiS' previous models, largely lowers the developing cost for system builders.

SiSM661FX employs the unique Ultra-AGPII™ technology, which provides lower signal latency and offers greater transmission bandwidth between the built-in graphic engine and memory controller. Moreover, by adopting the intellectual data-processing module and better image quality, SiSM661FX provides excellent operating environment and outstanding display quality for heavy gamers and digital video players. The flexible dual-view application allows the screen to be simultaneously displayed on a CRT, TV or LCD monitor, and supports a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 in the full screen UXGA display. SiSM661FX presents superior added values to add to the overall benefits of the integrated chip set.

SiSM661FX supports the HyperStreaming™ Engine technology, with emphasis on upgrading the overall performance of PC systems. Through all-inclusive hardware management and system resource distribution, it effectively manages CPU, Front Side Bus, south-/north-bridge chips, memory controller, graphic interface and each I/O peripheral, enhancing PC function to the maximum while fully demonstrating the unparallel efficiency of the Intel® platform.

Mass production of SiSM661FX will commence in August 2003. Motherboards adopting the SiSM661FX chipset will be available in the market in September 2003.
