SiS645 and SiS745 Win the 10th Annual Symbol of Excellence Award

January 31th 2002, Taipei, Taiwan - Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a leading core logic and graphic chips supplier, today announced its winning of the "Symbol of Excellence" award - the mark of Taiwan's best products, for two products: the SiS645 and SiS745. The SiS645 is the first Pentium® 4 chipset supporting DDR333 while the SiS745 features the integration of IEEE1394 for AMD Athlon®XP platform, supporting DDR333 as well. Passed a series of strict evaluation from the committee, both products were given this prestigious award.
Since the launch of the SiS645 and SiS745, the market has responded optimistically in addition to numerously positive reports from the worldwide media. With both products winning the Symbol of Excellence Award, SiS has again proved its stance as the leadership for the new generation. This is the third consecutive year that SiS has received this recognition. The Symbol of Excellence Award was organized by the Economic Ministry of Republic of China. The SiS645 is the world's first Pentium 4 chipset supporting DDR333 with 3 to 6 months ahead of all the competitors. It features unprecedented high performance, full compatibility and low energy consumption. The SiS645 employs open architecture with independent north and south bridge (SiS645/SiS961). The SiS745 also employs open architecture and is the first single chip to integrate IEEE1394 to provide fast peripheral interface. Both SiS645 and SiS745 support DDR333/DDR266 memory module up to 3GB. In addition, the SiS proprietary MuTIOL®(Multi-threaded I/O Link) technology delivers 533MB/s bandwidth between the north and south bridges. As a result, the SiS645 and SiS745 drastically increase the operating speed of all the connected peripherals.
