SiS CHIPSETS INTEGRATE "GIGA SPEED" FOR AMD AND INTEL SOLUTIONS
~ SiS displays new SiS746FX for AMD™ Athlon™ XP processor and the popular SiS655 and Xabre600 at Platform Conference ~

San Jose, Calif.,Jan 28, 2003 -- Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) is displaying its market leading line of core logic and graphics chipsets at the Platform Conference in San Jose this week. The spotlight is on the integration of SiS' exclusive MuTIOL®1G technology, which resets the bar for I/O bandwidth transfer speed to a new and higher level of 1 Gigabyte per second, referred to as "Giga Speed" by SiS.

As a further show of commitment to both Intel® and AMD™ platforms, SiS unveiled its newest high-performance AMD™ chipset announced earlier this month, the SiS746FX, which supports the AMD™ Athlon™ XP processor. The SiS746FX is the only AMD™ Athlon™ XP chipset in the marketplace to provide the high-performance support of a 333MHZ front-side bus, DDR400, AGP8X interface, and SiS MuTIOL®1G technology.

Meanwhile, the SiS655, the first Intel® Pentium® 4 chipset to support dual channel DDR333, has received validation in the marketplace. Several leading motherboard manufacturers, including Gigabyte, MSI, Asus and others, have announced production of boards utilizing the SiS655 paired with the SiS963, bridged by SiS' MuTIOL®1G interconnect.

"SiS will continue to provide core logic solutions for both Intel® and AMD™ platforms that meet the speed and performance demands of today's personal computer users and bandwidth intensive applications," said Michael Chen, senior vice president, SiS Integrated Product Division.

SiS also announced today that its latest graphics processor, the Xabre600, is in full production. The Xabre600 has the most competitive performance/cost ratio on the market today, with AGP8X specification and dual 300 MHz engine and memory clock speed.

Apart from the Platform Conference, SiS this week is launching its next-generation Rambus chipset, the SiSR659, designed to support four-channel RDRAM PC1200. This latest Rambus solution from SiS pairs the SiSR659 with the SiS964 in the south bridge, which integrates USB 2.0 with up to 8 ports and Serial ATA features. Sample delivery of the SiSR659 is scheduled for the third quarter of 2003.
