Taipei, September 24, 2003 – Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a world leader in core logic products, today announces its SiS760 – the world's first integrated chipset supporting AMD 64-bit platform. With high-speed DDR400 function, 800MHz Front Side Bus format, and an embedded graphic engine, SiS760 provides excellent graphics performance which is comparable to that of an external AGP 8X graphic card. SiS760 can also fully support newest AMD 64-bit CPUs, including Athlon 64 and Opetron.

The SiS760 Chipset integrates seamlessly with AMD's exclusive HyperTransport™ technology as well as the 8/16-bits connection technology to deliver the Front Side Bus (FSB) transmission speed up to 6.4GB/sec (1,600MT). It not only works closely with AMD's Opetron and Athlon 64 CPUs to ensure the optimal performance of bandwidth, but also achieves low-latency and high-efficiency in data transmission. Moreover, the mature MuTIOL®1G technology, also developed by SiS, promises the smoothest data transfer between South and North Bridges. By adopting SiS' revolutionary HyperStreaming™ Technology and the intellectual data-processing module, SiS760 offers the best performance for the AMD 64-bit platform and the most efficient resource distribution. The data transmission can be processed either synchronously or by batch to evidently improve system performance of High-End processor.

Built with an embedded Ultra 256 Graphic Core, SiS760 offers not only hardware supporting Pixel Shader v.1.3 complied with DirectX 8.1, but also software emulating advanced DirectX 9.0. Consequently, SiS760 can bring much better graphic performance than what traditional integrated Chipset does. Besides, SiS760 can support dual-video out function by integrating with SiS301C chip. In addition, LFB (Local Frame Buffer) can independently satisfied the storage need of graphic data. All these features enable SiS760 to deliver great graphic performance the same as an external graphic card with AGP8X interface.

SiS964 will be coupled with SiS760 as the South Bridge Chipset, which integrated with Serial ATA high-speed transfer interface. The brand-new South Bridge Chipset SiS964 not only supports Dual-Channel parallel ATA, but also adds two independent Serial ATA150 connection ports, which offer storage devices with data transmission speed up to 150MB/sec. Other special features include 8 built-in USB2.0 ports, which meet the requirement for increasing peripheral device connections, full 5.1 channel surround sound, V.90 modem and Ethernet network. The SiS964 also supports Multiple RAID disk array modes, including RAID0, RAID1, and JBOD, which further enhance the stability and performance of the operating environment.

"The developing of SiS760 is the best illustration of SiS's commitment to product quality for customers." Said Michael Chen, president and CEO of SiS. "We believe that we can keep creating mutual benefits with our customers by continuously improving technology and developing advanced product that meet market needs."

Mass production of SiS760 will commence in September 2003. Motherboard makers have started the board design work with the engineering sample of SiS760.
