(SiS), a leading supplier of core logic products, today announced the company has been invited by the Khronos Group to speak about OpenGL ES® at the Taipei and Shenzen session of the Fall 2003 Intel Developer Forum (IDF) Series. OpenGL ES is the standard graphics API for 3D handheld applications, and is being developed by the Khronos Group, an industry consortium focused on the development and deployment of OpenGL® ES and OpenML™; both royalty-free, open standard APIs that enable authoring and playback of dynamic media on a wide variety of platforms and devices.

As one of the newer members of the Khronos Group, SiS will help further the momentum of OpenGL ES, which defines subset profiles of OpenGL® and brings advanced 3D graphics to a wide range of embedded systems; and OpenML 1.0 which enables developers to easily integrate video, audio and graphics capabilities into their application suites. All Khronos Members contribute to the development of the specifications, vote at various stages before public deployment, and are able to accelerate the delivery of their cutting-edge 3D platforms and applications through early access to specification drafts.
