SiS656 PCIe Chipset Selected by AVL in Dual DDR2-667 Memory Test Certification Platform

Taipei, February 3, 2005---Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS), a leading supplier of core logic chipsets, today announced that its P4-supporting high-end and PCI Express-based chipset SiS656 will be used by AVL (Advanced Validation Labs) in Dual DDR2-667 memory test certification platform, making it a key core logic chipset to provide AVL in DDR2-667 platform validation.
AVL is a technology services company specializing in the pre-production and post-production testing and validation of memory to industries, including motherboard manufacturers, chip makers and DRAM fabricators. Products selected by AVL as the strict certification platform means the superb compatibility and stability as well as the quality assurance and promise to end customers.
In continuity of the support in DDR2 DRAM, SiS656 platform has passed DDR2-533 memory validation testing at AVL. As DDR2-667 is poised to become the industry’s mainstream memory standard, SiS’ R&D team has been actively promoting this new technology in step with this trend. SiS656 has recently completed the co-validation for DDR2-667 memory specification with the three major international memory makers, Elpida, Micron and Samsung.
