Following the development of Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system, SiS proudly unveiled its latest SiS671FX chipset supporting this next-generation OS in Q4, 2006. The SiS671FX chipset is for Intel desktop PCs platform, and it aims to provide outstanding system performance by supporting Windows Vista™. It supports Intel Core™ 2 Duo processors, and also supports FSB up to 1066MHz. Besides, the SiS671FX chipset integrates Mirage™ 3 graphics engine to provide DX9.0 hardware support and extremely advanced 2D and 3D graphics effects. The SiS968 Southbridge chipset is paired with the SiS671FX Northbridge chipset to provide most powerful performance. SiS proprietary MuTIOL® technology provides transmission bandwidth up to 1GB/s between Northbridge and Southbridge. The SiS968 Southbridge chipset features 2 SATA 3G connectors to provide up to 300MB/s of data transmission for each storage device. It also supports high-speed Gigabit Ethernet which enables users to have ultimate internet experience. Power management is the most competitive function of the SiS968 Southbridge chipset.
