Taipei, May 9th, 2007—SiS today pleased to announce that AcerPower S290 and Aspire SA90 Desktop PCs, manufactured by Acer, one of the world's top five PC brands, have successfully hit the market.

Acer is a Taiwan-based PC manufacturer. It is well known and is considered as one of the most important PC providers. The SiS671 chipset, which is SiS's first chipset compatible with the Windows Vista™ operating system, is successfully implemented in AcerPower S290 and Aspire SA90 to power the systems.

The AcerPower S290 is based on the SiS671/SiS968 chipsets, and it is designed to have strong multitasking performance, security, and value. By supporting Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, Intel® Pentium®4, Intel® Celeron® D processor, DDR2 667 and Serial ATA 2 technology, the AcerPower S290 has the power to run any application, while Windows Vista™ still keeps it safe and secure. This combination makes the AcerPower S290 a highly value solution. And the SiS Mirage™ 3 graphics is integrated in the SiS671 chipset to greatly enhance the image quality of the AcerPower S290.

The Aspire SA90 implements the SiS671/SiS968 chipsets to be compatible with Windows Vista™. Also, it provides full support to Intel® Core™ 2 Duo (with up to 800MHz FSB), Intel® Pentium® 4 and Intel® Celeron® D processors. It supports DDR2 667/ DDR2 533 memory. With the integrated SiS Mirage™ 3 graphics, the image quality of Aspire SA90 can be enormously enhanced. Furthermore, an extra PCI-Express x16 slot is available in the Aspire SA90, so it will be more flexible for users if they'd like to upgrade their systems by installing an add-on card. The Aspire SA90 also provides Serial ATA 2 high-speed interface, which greatly increases the efficiency of data transmission. Enabling the user to connect with more and more multimedia devices, the Aspire SA90 currently provides four USB2.0 ports, and which can be expanded to eight ports.
