With Pentium® M System Bus, the discrete chipset, SiS648MX supports multiple RAM formats, including DDR400/333/266, and it is able to achieve a high-speed graphic transmission rate provided by AGP 8X. SiS648MX is coupled with SiS963 as south bridge. Other special features include 6 built-in USB2.0 ports, which meet the requirement for increasing peripheral device connections, full 5.1 channel surround sound, V.90 modem and Ethernet network, 3ports IEEE 1394A .
The SiS963 also supports Multiple RAID disk array modes, including RAID0, RAID1, and JBOD, which further enhance the stability and performance of the operating environment. In conjunction with wireless network chipsets, the SiS648MX is also capable of providing customers with the ideal solution for wireless networks. SiS648MX supports the HyperStreaming™ technology, with emphasis on upgrading the overall performance of PC systems. Through all-inclusive hardware management and system resource distribution, it effectively manages CPU, Front Side Bus, south-/north-bridge chips, memory controller, graphic interface and each I/O peripheral, enhancing PC function to the maximum while fully demonstrating the unparallel efficiency of the Intel® platform.
