XFree86 4.0
SiS VGA Linux driver to support TV-out or LCD display is available in XFree86 4.0a for SiS630/SiS540 platform with SiS301 chip enabled. You need to download the patch file to update kernel from XFree86 4.0 to XFree86 4.0a. Here are a few steps to have your Linux system with TV-out or LCD display support.
Instruction:
1. Install Linux system with XFree86 4.0a available. You can contact with your Linux distributor for kernel update. or For Linux expert user, you can download the XFree86 4.0 kernel (X40src-1.tgz, X40src-2.tgz and X40src-3.tgz) from ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/4.0/source/.

Download the patch file ( 4.0-4.0a.diff.gz ) to update XFree86 4.0 to XFree86 4.0a

Download the sample file of XF86Config.
4. Follow the installation guide to update and rebuild your XFree86 4.0a server and XFree86Config. |

SiS630/SiS540/SiS620/SiS530 VGA Linux driver is available in XFree86 3.3.6 or later version. You need to download the kernel RPM or TGZ file for update. Here are three steps to install the lastest SiS VGA Linux driver.
Instruction:
1. Install Linux system with XFree86 3.3.6 available. For example, Redhat 6.2, CorelLinux and Slackware current version.
2. Download Kernel RPM ( xsis.rpm
) or TGZ ( xsis.tgz ) file
