1.	What kind of CPU can be used in my mother board?

A: This question is more about the motherboard specification. You may check the motherboard manual since different boards have different design, it will tell you that the CPU supported list and the maximum capability of the board. If you lost the manual, you can get is from the motherboard maker's or system vendor's website.

2.	Where can I obtain the audio driver for my SiS620 or SiS530 based motherboard

A: Since SiS620 or SiS530 doesn't integrate the audio function, we don't have the audio driver you need. Please contact the motherboard maker for the driver. As we know, there're lots of SiS620 or SiS530 based motherboard made C-Media's audo controller built-in the board, therefore, you may visit C-Meida's website ( http://www.cmedia.com.tw ) for the further info.

3.	Where can I obtain the motherboard manual? Why can't I find it in SiS website?

A: SiS is a chipset maker intead of motherboard vendor. Therefore, SiS doesn't provide any motherboard manual on its website. If you needs the motherboard manual, please contact the motherboard maker or the PC system vendor.

4.	Does SiS have an AGP driver for supporting Windows NT 4.0 ?

A: No, because Win NT4.0 does not support AGP. AGP requires support for DirectX instructions and Microsoft will only add this support into Win NT NT5.0. An AGP card will still run on NT4.0 but only in 2D mode.

5.	How to remove your SiS drivers when you don't need it any more?

A: For IDE part, please excute the setup program of the IDE driver files. Then you can choose uninstall process, and follow up the wizard to complete the process. For VGA part, there are two ways to install your vga driver, by INF file or by setup program. Please read Q11 about the installations. So if you want to get rid of the VGA driver, you need to check which way you can work:
1.By display properties:
a.Click right button of your mouse, select "properties".
b.The "display properties" window will pop up, select "settings" tab.
c.Press "Advanced" button.
d.Select "Adapter" tab.
e.Press "change" button, there's a wizard window, please follow the directions to install VGA driver.
f.Select the 2nd radio button "Display a list of all the drivers".
g.Please choose "Standard Graphics Adapter" as your default VGA driver.
2.By Setup: Go to "Control Panel","Add/Remove Program" to remove the vga driver.

6.	Do I need to excute this 5597/98 TSR program?

A: This TSR program is for updating your 5598 VGA BIOS to newer version without reprogramming the EPROM. It provides better compatibility with SiS 5597/5598 V1.13 driver and is able to fix the fatal error problem in your windows 98 system while upgrading the vga driver to V1.13 or its later versions. The instructions to excute this program is:
1.Download 597v113.exe from SiS web site.
2.Come to the DOS Mode in your windows system.
3.In the C:\ root directory, type "edit autoexec.bat".
4.Add this line "C:7v113.exe" in the autoexec.bat.
5.Save and exit Every time you boot up your system, it will load this program and update your vga BIOS.

7.	Why can't I install Windows XP on my S-ATA HDD by SiS964?

A: You have to copy the driver paired with the motherboard package into a floppy disc before you installing WinXP or Windows 2000 on your system, and follow the notice showed on the screen to insert the floopy disc. The system will grab the needed driver from the disc to finish the installation of S-ATA HDD automatically.

Because SiS964 was announced before than Windows XP and WinXP therefore it can't recognize it. If you want to install a whole new WinXP (or Windows 2000) on S-ATA HDD by SiS964, you need to copy the necessary driver from the directory named floopy image on your driver CD to one floopy disc. When you begin to install OS, follows the instruction to put your disc into floopy drive. After this, you will keep on installing your WinXP smoothly. If you use P-ATA HDD, you don't need to do like this.
